Step 1

In a shallow bowl or dish whisk together two eggs. Add in milk, nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla and whisk to combine.

Step 2

Heat a skillet to medium-high heat. Add the butter to the pan to melt. Lightly dip each slice of bread in the milk mixture on both sides. If you dip too much the bread will be soggy. Add to the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides. If your skillet isn’t large enough for all four slices, make in batches but split the butter amount in half so there’s enough for each batch.

Step 3

Serve with whatever toppings you like. I used pure maple syrup, strawberries, blueberries, and powdered sugar.
