I made this ice cream over Christmas and everyone loved it. I used my Cuisinart Ice Cream maker and added chocolate covered almonds the last 5 minutes of mixing. After mixing put the ice cream in freezer containers and freeze for about 1-2 hours for desired firmness. Best ice cream ever!

Great tasting vanilla ice cream that was easy to make. I used 3/4 cup of sugar as some previous reviews thought it was a bit to sweet. With the 3/4 cup of sugar it was perfect. 7 of 7 family members give it a 5 out of 5.

This is the best ice cream ever. So easy to put together and super creamy. I have been making it for a lot of years. I often take out 1 cup of the half and half and put in 1 cup of pureed fruit....strawberries or raspberries or peaches....whatever is in season. Delicious.

I've been using this recipe to make icecream for many years and everyone I have ever served it to exclaims "it's the Best,"  I have subbed in whole milk for some of the cream and sometimes used 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 tsp. Stevia to lighten up some.  It always comes out great but with the sub ins, if you don't eat all the icecream and it goes back in the freezer for more than a few hours it does get very hard and needs to set out for a bit to make scooping out a lot easier.  I love  switching things up by adding berries, lemon, chocolate or other add-ins also.  Have never been disappointed with the outcome.  To make a ripple icecream, when the freezer stops, put icecream in a big bowl and drizzle chocote sauce (or other flavours) over the top and gentle fold in a bit making sure not to over mix.  Transfer to a  freezer container and freeze until firm.

By far the easiest, creamiest, flavorful ice cream I've ever had.  If there was an option to rate this at 10 stars, I would.

Made this recipe and added fresh cherries to it. Took to a friend's party and got told it was the best homemade ice cream they had every tasted. Definitely my favorite recipe. Thanks for sharing it.

This is a hard one to give a five star review too because when my mom and I make ice cream we use whole milk and whipping cream not heavy cream. This is the basic recipe we use for any ice cream we have ever made. You can add all sorts of flavorings to this to make it yummy.  Something I do is put the mixed ice cream liquid in the microwave and heat it up for 30 seconds. It helps so the Ingredients mix together better so they do not stick to the bottom of the bowl. Most of the time my mom and I put it in the Refrigerator for two hours before we put it in the ice cream maker. We make this ice cream for birthdays and everyone says it amazing. My mom and I add things to the ice cream so it’s not just a vanilla ice cream like chocolate chips, berries, some pumpkin pie can mix, mint extract, etc.

I used you exact recipe, with just a few tweaks  and 1/2 c of condensed sweetened milk.  Instead of 2 cups of 1/2 & 1/2I I-substituted 1 cup w/ whole milk.Also, instead of 1 c of sugar, I used 1/2 c sugar & 1/2 c condensed milkOh My! It made the most incredible rich, creamy ice cream we have ever had! My husband now called me the “Ice Cream Goddess!”On a side note: while I loved the way our ice cream turned out, it was VERY sweet. So if you don’t have a sweet tooth, this alteration might be too sweet for you. Next go round, I may reduce the sugar content to adjust. There is waaaayy too much sugar in this recipe. If you want diabieties in a single bite of icecream, then use this recipe. If not and you don’t want soda to taste bland, then use some other recipe with significantly less sugar….

Oh my goodness this was so easy and tastes fabulous. And I know exactly what is in it. I have been so disappointed in store bought ice cream with all the ingredients you can’t even pronounce. I have had an ice cream maker for 30 plus years and just stopped using it for some reason. After reading ice cream labels decided it was time to dig it out again and I am so happy I did. After reading reviews I played with the recipe. I used 2 1/2 cups each of whipping cream and 1/2 & 1/2. Then took 1 cup milk and heated it to dissolve the sugar better, then chilled it before mixing everything together. It turned out wonderful and I am looking forward to making this again in a larger batch because my husband eats a small bowl of ice cream every night :) he is definitely a happy camper.

This was exactly the recipe I've been looking for! I used 1 1/2 cups of whipping cream and 2 1/2 cups of whole milk and didn't encounter the whipped cream flavor a few mentioned. I also used a bit less sugar. This is for sure my new go-to ice cream recipe. Perfect!

This recipe is the greatest!  All  you need is a mixer and container to freeze in! My son has stomach issues and regular ice cream from the store makes him sick! When I make this ice cream he has no issues and I can make his favorite! I put green food coloring with a couple drops of peppermint and mix away  and you can put in freezer  let get firm and stir in choc chips and have choc chip mint!

For those who want a less like whip cream. Use only   1 1/2 cups of heavy cream 1 1/2 cups of  half and half 1c. Of whole milk It works quite well

OMG! SO much fun to make and even more fun to eat. The possibilities are endless! You can adjust this recipe and make just about any flavor or color you want! So happy that I have passed this on to my family and friends! Thank you we are really enjoying it here in New York!

Super easy, and tastes really good!  Made it in my Nostalgia electric ice cream maker following the instructions on my machine, and it froze to perfect consistency.  Wonderfully creamy with a very home made vanilla taste.  First time I used my machine and first time making ice cream, will definitely be sticking to this recipe.

The first time I made this, I had some vanilla bean. Which I used in conjunction with the extract. What a beautiful rich and creamy ice cream. All the family raved.

I agree with Audrey. Ecoderre should not post a review without trying a recipe. This is what i did. I first made the recipe for my family, as written. They gave it 5 stars. I follow a ketogenic diet, and have found ways to modify most things so that I can eat them. I used the basic recipe. Substituted allulose (a natural sweetener) for the sugar, and full fat coconut milk for the half and half. Its WONDERFUL!!! Make this your own. add in chocolate chips. berries. some caramel ice cream topping (or make your own) use flavorings. etc. You wont be sorry!!! Everyone in my house is happy. Carbers and non carbers alike. THANK YOU FOR THIS EXCELLENT RECIPE!
