Step 1

Bring the water, honey, and sage to a boil in a pot over medium high heat. Reduce to low and simmer for 3 minutes. Turn off heat and let syrup cool.

Step 2

Stir bourbon and cooled syrup with ice in a mixing glass. Fill lowball glass with ice and pour mix over. Twist your orange peel directly over glass to release oils. Garnish with a fresh sage leaf and orange peel. For a sweeter taste add more honey sage syrup.
