Step 1

Melt the butter, and add to a large mixing bowl with honey and milk.

Step 2

When lukewarm to touch, add the yeast and let froth for about 5 minutes.

Step 3

Add salt, eggs and 2 cups white flour. Mix until combined.

Step 4

Add 1 cup whole wheat flour.

Step 5

Add up to an additional 1/2 cup whole wheat flour, until dough ball forms and is tacky to touch, but dough will not stick to a clean touch.

Step 6

Cover and let rise until double in size.

Step 7

Deflate dough and form into 12 evenly sized rolls.

Step 8

For smooth top on rolls, stretch the top over, and tuck dough underneath.

Step 9

Let dough rolls rise until double in size.

Step 10

Back at 350 for about 25 minutes until fragrant and golden brown.
