Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2

Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray and set it aside.

Step 3

In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, the cocoa powder, the baking soda, and the sea salt together.

Step 4

In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork.

Step 5

Add the melted butter and the oil to the mashed bananas and stir until combined.

Step 6

Stir the brown sugar, the egg, and the vanilla extract into the banana mixture and stir until smooth.

Step 7

Stir the flour mixture into the banana mixture, being careful not to overmix.

Step 8

Stir 3/4 cup of the chocolate chips into the banana mixture.

Step 9

Pour the batter into the prepared pan.

Step 10

Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips over the top of the bread.

Step 11

Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out mostly clean, about 50 minutes-1 hour 5 minutes.

Step 12

Remove the pan from the oven and set it on a wire cooling rack.

Step 13

Let the bread cool in the pan for 15 minutes.

Run a knife around the edges of the bread and carefully transfer it from the pan.

Let the bread cool on a wire cooling rack until slightly warm.

Slice and serve.
