Export 3 ingredients for grocery delivery
Step 1
Download the printable pattern (link in article) or make your own pattern by unpicking an old favorite tie.
Step 2
Cut the pieces on the bias. You will have 2 tie pieces and 2 small lining pieces.
Step 3
For thin fabrics, baste the sew-in interfacing around the edges of the 2 main tie pieces.
Step 4
Put the 2 tie pieces with right sides together and sew the straight ends with a ½ inch (12mm) seam allowance. Press open the seam.
Step 5
Place the lining pieces on the ends of the tie with right sides together. Stitch the sides and bottom v shape leaving the top open.
Step 6
Clip the corners and turn the lining the right way out.
Step 7
On the wrong side, press the edges over by ½ inch (12mm)
Step 8
Overlap the folded edges by ¼" (6mm) in the center. Pin in place.
Step 9
Hand stitch the overlap using a slip stitch. The slip stitch should only go through the fabric on the overlap and not through to the right side of the tie.
Step 10
Press the tie one final time and it is ready to wear.
