Ice Cream Cookie Dessert

(15-1/2 ounces) Oreo cookies, crushed, divided

butter, melted

vanilla ice cream, softened

(16 ounces) hot fudge ice cream topping, warmed

carton (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed

This is simple and so good! My family loves this and we make it often during the summer. I do use more fudge sauce than called for and most often make my own whipped cream for the top. Very versatile to change flavors too. Definitely a keeper!

Super easy to make!  I added crushed walnuts to the topping and used French Vanilla ice cream for a bit richer ice cream flavoring but I could see this tasting wonderful with a mocha flavored ice cream. And I will use real whipped cream next time as I'm not a super fan of the frozen  cool whip.

This is a wonderful and easy to put together dessert.Everyone that tries it loves it.

Great when you want the convenience of a store-bought dessert but want to add a bit of tlc.  It does take time to setup between layers so plan in advance.

I use hot fudge topping & caramel topping, they now make oreo cookie crumbs.

Excellent summer dessert after a barbeque. I also add caramel topping in addition to the fudge topping. Instead of coolwhip I use real whipped cream. In addition to the extra cookie crumbs, I also sprinkle about a 1/3 cup crushed salted peanuts on top. I've been making this dessert  for over 40yrs, first for my children, now my grandchildren.

This is both my son's favorite cake. It is requested every year for birthdays. The only thing I do differently is, 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, not 1/4, mixing all cookie crumbs together with butter, saving 1/2-2/3 cup for topping. Plus, I don't bother freezing in steps. I have everything ready and just layer it then cover and freeze. It is MUCH better than store bought ice cream cakes.

My Grandma would make this all of the time when she was alive - our family LOVES it!!

I have been looking for this recipe for a long time now, I am so glad to have found this. This is a recipe I will use for my hubby's birthday. thank you for posting this recipe.It's a good one. I would add bananas and melted chocolate to this recipe.

Move over Carvel !!  No need to buy an ice cream cake now.   You can change up the flavors to suit everyone's taste. Yummy!!

Made this for an office birthday treat.  Was so easy and delicious.  Next time I might try it with fresh made whipped cream.

This recipe was a huge hit! I made it for a work potluck and everyone loved it. My daughter also requested it as her birthday dessert. I used one package of double stuffed oreos.  Ended up using about 3 cups for the crust and saved the rest for the topping. I also needed extra fudge to get it properly covered.  Awesome recipe!

This is a Winner! Not only is it easy,  prepared ahead of time so very convenient when you have company, the taste is even better than we expected! It doesn't last long, even in the freezer, the family has a way of finding it!

What's not to enjoy?!  Made it for grandson's birthday, he loved it :)

My whole family loved this. I think that next time I will try peanut butter cream filled cookies and butterscotch topping.

Wonderful! Easy! My recipe calls for red skin peanuts. It gives it a salty taste.

Very easy to make!  Will make this again and again!

Love this dessert as do my 3 sons!  I use coffee ice cream.  I will use another reviewer's suggestion and try it with real whip cream next time.  I think that would improve it even more!
