Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175°C).
Step 2
Grease a 9x5 loaf pan with butter or cooking spray and line it with parchment.
Step 3
In a large bowl, combine the flour, pecans, granulated sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg.
Step 4
Whisk the eggs, melted butter, buttermilk, brown sugar, and vanilla in a separate, medium bowl. Once it's combined, slowly stir the mashed bananas into the mix.
Step 5
Gently stir the banana mixture into the flour mixture in the large bowl (some lumps are okay).
Step 6
Pour the batter into the buttered loaf pan. Give it a few taps against the counter to level out the batter.
Step 7
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about an hour. Remove the bread when it is brown and passes the toothpick test - insert a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean or with just a couple of crumbs, it's ready.
Step 8
Allow the banana bread to cool for about 10 minutes before removing it from the pan. Turn the loaf onto a wire rack to cool. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
