In a bowl or shallow dish, combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, and pepper.

Add the pork chops to the mixture, turning them to coat.

Cover and refrigerate the bowl for at least 8 hours and up to overnight.

Grease the grill rack.

Preheat the grill to medium heat.

Drain the pork chops, discarding the marinade.

Place the chops on the grill and cook, covered, until the meat reaches at least 145 degrees F internally, about 4-5 minutes per side.
