Ingredients: 1 long red chilli, whole; 1/4 bunch of rosemary, leaves picked; 1/4 bunch of thyme, leaves picked; 5 garlic cloves, peeled; 75 ml good olive oil; 800 g beef rump, cut into; 1-cm thick slices; 2 tablespoons vegetable oil; 2 red onions, thiny sliced; salt; 2 tablespoons caster sugar; 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar; 1 and 1/2 cups red wine; 2 red capsicums; good olive oil; salt and pepper; 1 quantity Mayonnaise; 4 handfuls of rocket; splash of balsamic vinegar; splash of extra virgin olive oil; salt and cracked pepper; 3 tomatoes, sliced; 1 loaf sourdough bread

This isn't just any old steak sandwich – we've spent a lot of time getting all the elements just right, so we can highly recommend it. It's a sandwich with heart and soul and a lot of good fresh ingredients. If you can, fire up the barbecue to cook the steak, but if not, a really hot pan will do.
