Step 1

With the help of a mortar and pestle, crush the lavender (note that about 140 grams, or five ounces, are required for each ml of oil you want to obtain).

Step 2

Once it is well crushed, and you have a sufficient amount, place it in the glass container that you have prepared and add the amount of alcohol corresponding according to how much lavender you have added so that the lavender is submerged.

Step 3

Cover and let stand for 4 to 5 days.

Step 4

It is important that, during this period, you shake the container from time to time. In this way, you help in the release of the plant's own oils.

Step 5

Once the days have elapsed, prepare the other container with a cloth strainer, and strain the liquid.

Step 6

Next, place the coffee filter, which will serve as a lid. This allows the alcohol to evaporate.

Step 7

After 3 or 4 days, the alcohol will have evaporated, and you will have your lavender essential oil ready to use.

Step 8

Take all your lavender flowers and place them inside the glass container you have set up. The amount will depend on your taste (if you prefer it more or less concentrated, as there is no exact measure).

Step 9

Fill the container with the chosen vegetable oil. We recommend not to use those that are very aromatic, such as coconut oil, as the scent of lavender tends to be lost in the end.

Step 10

Close your container tightly and leave it in a cool place for at least 30 days.

Step 11

It is important to keep it in an area where the sun does not shine directly on it.

Step 12

After this time and with the help of your strainer or sieve, pour the oil into the second glass bottle, making sure that there are no traces of lavender.
