Cut the lemons and limes in half and juice them. I like to use a juicer for this to make things easy. I have this one from Zulay Kitchen and I LOVE it. It's so durable and heavy-duty, and it makes juicing citrus a freaking breeze.
Step 5
In a small saucepan, bring sugar and 1 1/4 cups of water to a boil over medium heat. Stir occasionally until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat.
Step 8
Add lemon and lime juice to the sugar syrup.
Step 12
Let cool.
