Step 1
In medium saucepan, soften gelatin in ½ cup skim milk.
Step 2
Add cornstarch, sugar, remaining 1½ cups skim milk, egg yolk, and chocolate.
Step 3
Cook over medium flame, stirring constantly until chocolate melts and mixture thickens and boils.
Step 4
Remove from flame; stir in vanilla extract.
Step 5
Place sheet of waxed paper directly onto the surface of the mixture.
Step 6
Chill until slightly thickened but not set.
Step 7
In a deep bowl, beat non-fat dry milk, ice water, and egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Step 8
Fold into chocolate mixture. Pour into serving dishes.
Step 9
Chill about 2 hours or until set.
Step 10
Garnish with a low calorie whipped topping if desired.
