Marinated Lamb Chops

olive oil

lemon, zested (about 1/2 teaspoon)

lemon, juiced (about 2 tablespoons)

oregano oregano

garlic

salt

black pepper

lamb

In a small bowl stir together the first 7 ingredients. Put the lamb chops in a sealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over them. Move the chops around in the bag so the marinade coats them well. Marinate for 1 hour.

Grill or broil the chops for 3 to 4 minutes per side for medium rare.

Tender and yummy.  Of course I think it needed more salt.   

Remarkably Simple<br />This was my 2nd time making this and it confirmed the 1st time wasn’t a fluke.  I had never had lamb before in my 40+ years and this was Awesome!  And SO simple.  Honestly the most challenging piece was zesting the lemon (LOL).  Bought extra lamb chops to freeze because they were on sale as I will be making this again very soon.

Wow... simply the best and so easy to make.

Fantastic first time making lamb myself, this marinade really brought out the flavor of the lamb. 

This has been my go-to recipe for years. Simple ingredients that I always have on hand. Just as good on chicken and fish.

Outstanding.   These were seriously delicious.   A definite make again.  

Although this recipe was delicious, I broiled them for 15 min. to come to temp for medium rare lamb.  165 - 170 degrees.

I don't understand why Americans eat lamb if they don't enjoy it. This recipe, like most American lamb recipes, focus on masking the flavor of lamb, because they don't enjoy it. So don't eat it!<div><br /></div><div>Lamb is delicious, and its fat that the recipe says should be trimmed is highly prized in lamb eating countries. </div><div><br /></div><div>Stop using strong flavors that kill the actual flavor of lamb, and enhance its flavor using salt, cumin and cayenne pepper. Don't use oil since the animal is fat and doesn't need more. </div>

It’s my “go to” lamb recipe! Super easy and delicious.

Sorry, but my husband and son did not like these at all.  I've made lamb chops numerous ways, often the best being just sea salt or truffle salt/pepper and olive oil on the grill.  With all the amazing reviews, thought I would try out this variety and it did not go well, which was surprising since my family will eat about anything.  My husband felt the citrus flavor was way too overpowering and didn't go well with lamb chops.  If you're looking to hide the gaminess of the meat, this does it.  However, if you enjoy the taste of lamb, might want to try another recipe.

I've been making this for years. I can't believe I hadn't review it yet. It is unbelievably simple, really great and healthy too. You can't beat that! The marinade actually works in one hour.

Really fast, really easy and really good!  A great recipe to use when you are looking for something different in a marinade, and want something that you will probably have all the ingredients on hand.  The Mediterranean flavors work very nicely together, especially with lamb. I imagine it would also work well with chicken. Didn't change a thing the first time I made it and that is unusual for me.  The second time I made it I used lime instead of lemon because that is what I had, added Dijon mustard to the marinade and grilled the chops -- it was still fantastic! 

I don't post often but I made this recipe tonight and it ranks my list as one of the best I've ever had. The lamb was tender and not overcooked. Unfortunately, my husband and I only have three left out of seven. I followed it exactly and cooked it on my gas grill with lemon/olive oil marinated asparagus. Fantastic!!! Ellie you rock!!!

Quick meal!  I put it in to marinate, took my son to hockey, and when I came home I through them on the grill pan.  Dinner was ready in 10 minutes.  My 9 year old loved them and I felt like I had given him a  meal fit for a king.  Very tasty!  Marinade didn't overpower the taste of the lamb.  Thanks Ellie!

Great! I marinated the lamb chops overtime and chicken breast too (separately and grilled them. Everyone ate them up. Served with roasted red pepper and pea pilaf, lemon roasted potatoes and grilled asparagus and baby red, orange and yellow peppers which I marinated as well. What a feast, will be using this as a staple. Thanks Ellie.

Made this for the first time tonight, and served it with a carmalized onion, potato and brussel sprout meldey.  A keeper for sure and will use the marinade on other meat/poultry, as suggested by others.,

Fantastic recipe! I used the juice of a whole medium lemon (which yielded more than 2 tblspoons of juice) and the zest of 1/2 a lemon and marinated it two hours longer ... and it was even more flavorful and tender. I also left a little fat on the sides (which might have made it a little more tender too).

I did broil longer, but the chops were over an inch thick.  Made with Goat cheese mashed pototoes and green beans.

One of the easiest recipes to make.  Broiled my lamb loin chops for 4 mins on each side, but it looked too red so I made the mistake of broiling it for another 4 mins.  Next time, will broil 5 mins on each side for medium-cooked lamb chops.

I like to use this easy recipe for the cheaper lamb cuts. I changed nothing and the lemon flavor is wonderful. I broil for 6 minutes one side and 5 the other on a 3/4 inch shoulder piece of lamb for Medium well. Deliscious!

This is on our recipe rotation as a regular. Its simple, healthy and totally delicious.

We loved this!  I doubled the recipe and used it on a small butterflied leg of lamb, which I grilled.  It was awesome!  The lamb was so flavorful and tender! I'll definitely use this often.  I can't wait to try this same marinade on chicken. Very, very highly recommended.

I couldn't find any decent lamp chops so I substitued pork chops instead.  Very yummy.  I will make this again!

I had never thought of pairing lemon and oregano with roasted lamb, but it works quite well. SUPER simple recipe, great results, well worth your minimal amount of effort. A crowd pleaser. I served with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. A great twist to standard steak and potatoes.

This recipe is so simple to prepare, yet the flavor is rich and complex.  The sweetness of the potatoes combined with the smokiness and heat of the chiles is wonderful!

This is may favorite way to prepare lamb chops.  The rub is also great on chicken and beef.

This recipe was ideal for anyone who would like to make Super Tasty, Perfectly Marinated Lamb Chops on the BBQ! Since my chops were an inch thick, I left them on the bbq for 6 min per side, which was perfectly light pink inside! ENJOY!!!

I actually marinated for about two hours, just because I had the time. This simple and quick recipe created a trully delicious lamb. Especially great with rosted potatoes.

The marinate is simple and easy but the results are great.  Try it with pork and let marinate for 2 hours and broil.  You'll be happy with the results.

I made this for my mom's birthday dinner and used pork loin chops because we don't eat lamb.  It was wonderful, flavorful, and moist!  It got raves from everyone!

Used pork instead of lamb since that is what I had. It was very good. Would make again.
