1 Put in a big pot the beef tongue and lip, add salt to taste, lemon, garlic powder and a leaf of laurel. Cook it over low heat. Let it cook for around 6 hours.

2 Turn off the heat. Separate the meat from the water, and put them in different containers.

3 Clean and peel the tongue removing the external layer.

4 Chop the meat and put it in a frying pan.

5 Add water to the pan so it doesnu2019t dry out after a while (use the water used to cook the meat).

6 Put the vegetable oil over another frying pan and cook it over low heat for around two minutes.

7 Cook the onion and peppers on the frying pan until they get browned (2 minutes approximately).

8 Use the browned onion and jalapeu00f1o peppers to decorate the barbacoa; putting them by the side or over the top of the meat.
