Step 1

Tip raw chicken upside down to drain all excess liquid from cavity.

Step 2

Place chicken in the microwave oven bag.

Step 3

Using hands, rub chicken all over with French onion soup mix using entire packet.

Step 4

Seal with elastic band and place breast down on dinner plate.

Step 5

Microwave for 16 minutes for smaller chicken or 18 minutes for larger chicken.

Step 6

Turn chicken and bag over carefully and cook again for same period.

Step 7

Let stand for 2 minutes, cut open bag (being careful of the steam) and save juices in bag to add to gravy if required.

Step 8

Cut up chicken and serve immediately.
