A friend gave me this recipe several years ago. She said a local minister's wife fixed it every Sunday, so she named it accordingly &mdash;Mary Ann Potter, Blue Springs, Missouri

For dump cakes like this, you should melt the butter and drizzle on top of cake mix. I&#039;ve never seen the cake mix and butter mixed then on top.  Looks good, I&#039;ll have to try this one

Add a stick of butter and a can of crushed pineapple, bake in the oven and you have dump cake. This did not work for me in the crock pot.

I have made this for years.  I use two cans of filling, no nuts, and do not melt the butter.  Put filling in an 8x8 dish, ys 1/2 a box of cake mix, slice a cube of butter and lay on top.  Bake at 350 until the crust is brown and crispy.   Sometimes I make my own filling especially when the blackberries are ripe.

I think this is a take on the Cherry Dump Cake.  1 can cherry pie filling, 1 can crushed pineapple drained slightly, broken pecans or walnuts to suit, 1 yellow cake mix and 1 stick of melted butter. pour cherry pie filling and pineapple in bottom of 11X14 cake pan, sprinkle with nuts. Mix cake mix and butter to resemble cornmeal. Spread mix over top of fruit. Bake at 350 for 1-1 1/2 hours.  Crock pot is not the best tool for this recipe.

Made this , this morning for Thanksgiving, it was awful. Gooey, and after cooking for almost 2 1/2 hours it burned around the edges. Don&#039;t think I will make this again. Even though it looked delicious.

Uh, maybe I did something wrong, but this was only okay. It&#039;s very... gloopy and tastes kinda like raw cake mix. I will try this again with different proportions.

Uninspiring the first day, Elmo glue like consistency thereafter.

Very similar to the old fashion dump cake. Add some pineapple to the bottom layer. Yummy

For those of you that think it is too sweet, drain a can of fruit and mix it with the pie filling. Then mix the rest as usual. Cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on top of some fillings would be good too.
