Make this easy dessert a day before serving, as you'll have to refrigerate it overnight. 

No-Bake Chocolate Eclair Cake

box(es) 3.5 oz instant vanilla pudding

milk

container 8 ounces cool whip

Graham crackers

cocoa

sugar

butter

vanilla

Prepare the filling by combining pudding mix and milk. Beat. Stir in Cool Whip. 


Place a layer of graham crackers in bottom of a 9x13 dish. Spread 1/2 filling mixture on top. Repeat with another layer of graham crackers, add rest of filling, top with final layer of graham crackers.


To make the topping, bring cocoa, milk and sugar to a roiling boil. Let topping boil for one full minute, stirring frequently. 


Add butter and vanilla to topping, and stir till butter is melted.


Pour chocolate topping over graham crackers and refrigerate overnight. 


5 stars for the idea. 3 stars for using fake whipped cream.Guess I could go to the effort of whipping up a cup of cream to add.

I made this about 5 years ago, I was hunting for an easy dessert to bring for the holidays and this one popped up and it was a huge hit!  I did not save the recipe and was fuzzy on ingredients, etc., so I have been on the lookout, and viola!  It appeared in my inbox in myrecipes email and this time I saved this beauty. I made it this past weekend for Easter and once again, it was a hit.  It was gone in a flash and everyone asked for the recipe.  Thanks for this lifesaver.  It is fast and easy and delicious.

Hi, it’s great. It looks like the mistakes mentioned below have been corrected and the video shows the topping made correctly. Probably it’s not covered in the fridge either.

Should the desert be covered when putting in the refrigerator?

The directions are wrong, and it's a shame they have not posted a correction.  We're assuming you bring the cocoa, milk, and sugar to a boil, then add the butter and vanilla.  

I believe this should be 'bring cocoa, milk &amp; sugar to a boil. Add butter &amp; vanilla after.'

NanaAnnI don't understand why the directions for the Topping have you bring cocoa, milk &amp; butter to rolling boil, then removing from heat and cooling 1 minute before telling you to to add butter and vanilla and stir until butter is melted.  I thought you only melted the butter with the cocoa and milk.  HELP!!

I make this also but use French Vanilla pudding and to make it quick &amp; easy I purchase dark chocolate or chocolate fudge prepared frosting and microwave for 1 min and pour over top.
