Step 1
Warm up the milk to 100F and pour it into a mixing bowl.
Step 2
Add the yeast and stir for about 30 seconds to help the yeast dissolve.
Step 3
Beat the egg and add it to the milk together with sugar and salt. Stir.
Step 4
Sift the flour into the bowl and mix until smooth.
Step 5
Cover the bowl with a tea towel and place into a warm spot in your kitchen. Let it stand until the batter has more than doubled in size and large babbles form on the surface.
Step 6
In a skillet, heat about 1 to 2 Tbsp of oil over medium heat.
Step 7
Using 2 tablespoons, carefully scoop some batter from the edge of the bowl and drop it on the skillet forming a pancake. When scooping, try not to disturb the rest of the batter.
Step 8
Fry the pancakes for about 1.5 to 2 minutes or until golden on one side and then flip. Fry on the other side until golden.
Step 9
Place a piece of paper towel on a plate. Remove the pancakes from the skillet and place on the paper towel.
Step 10
Repeat with the next batch of pancakes.
