My grandmother taught both me and my mom this appetizer recipe for stuffed celery. We always serve it at Christmas and Thanksgiving. The stuffing is so yummy that even if you don't normally care for the ingredients on their own, you'll love the end result. &mdash;Stacy Powell, Santa Fe, Texas

Olive-Stuffed Celery

dill pickle spear

sweet pickles plus 1 teaspoon juice

olives

pimiento-stuffed olives plus 1 teaspoon juice

(8 ounces) cream cheese, softened

Miracle Whip

salt

pecans,

celery ribs,

Finely chop the pickles and olives. In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese, Miracle Whip, juices and salt until blended. Stir in the pickles, olives and pecans.

Pipe or stuff filling into celery sticks. Store in the refrigerator.

<p>I'm 62 and back in the day, my grandmother would make a "pickle platter." She made stuffed celery with cream cheese lightly sprinkled with paprika. She would also have sweet gherkins, dill pickle wedges and olives on the platter. The presentation was beautiful. I still occasionally make stuffed celery for myself. This recipe really peaked my attention because I've never combined the pickles and olives with the cream cheese. I'm definitely going to try it.</p>

I made this recipe (a trial run for the holidays) and I followed the recipe exactly.  If you're an olive and pickle lover you will love this recipe.  It's sweet yet tangy, light and creamy ....perfect for a holiday appetizer.  I also spread some that was leftover on a toasted bagel .... and WOW!!  Delicious!  I give this recipe 5 stars for sure!

I made this for a Harry Potter theme dinner for my daughter and she loved them! We called them Herbology Bites. I followed the recipe minus the pecans (just left them out as I forgot but still it was tasty) and used real mayo. I put it into a ziplock bag, trimmed the end and had no problem with piping it mess free into the celery. I had a bunch left over and will try it on crackers tomorrow!

These were a big hit at my office Thanksgiving potluck.  I did make it a little easier on myself by using sweet and dill relish instead of chopping the pickles myself. I love this combination of flavors, and so did my coworkers.  I had several requests for the recipe.

We enjoyed this with celery and crackers. I had to guess amounts, though.  Actual measurements would have been nice. Olives and pickles can be very different sizes.

I am not an olive fan, but my MIL introduced these to me and I love it.  She makes them every Thanksgiving and Christmas!  I get to take home the leftovers, I put the leftover cream cheese on bagels!

This was really really good. A little bit sweet, and sour and rich all stirred together to create this tasty spread.  No celery, no problem Crackers and toasted bread would also love this snappy spread. I cut back on the sodium by eliminating the brine from both the pickle and olives.  TOH V FE.    Winner by a mile.

I have prepared this twice in the last month.  I love the combination of flavors and considered it a healthy snack.  It may be a little messy to stuff celery.

It was ok, but I probably wouldn't make this recipe again.  I thought the flavors would meld and would be more flavorful the next day, but I was wrong.  The recipe seems to need something...but I don't know what?

Is this a Texas recipe? I remember my Mom and Grandma making this. I live not far from Santa Fe
