Step 1

Combine water, honey and yeast in mixing bowl

Step 2

Let sit about 5 minutes, or until foamy

Step 3

Add flour and salt

Step 4

Using dough hook (if you have one) mix in flour until dough is not sticky to the touch. (Start with 3 1/2 cups and add small amounts until proper consistency is reached). This usually takes about 5 minutes of mixing.

Step 5

Scoop dough out of bowl and onto baking sheet or baking stone, forming into a longish loaf

Step 6

Cover loaf with a clean towel and let sit for about 20 minutes while you preheat oven to 400 degrees

Step 7

Using sharp knife, cut slits in top of loaf

Step 8

Bake at 400 for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown

Step 9

Optional: brush top of loaf with butter before slicing
