Place the chicken breasts, the shallots, and the garlic in the slow cooker.

Step 2

Top the chicken mixture with the chicken broth, the lemon juice, the capers, and the lemon slices.

Dot the surface of the chicken mixture with the butter and season with the salt and the pepper.

Cook the chicken mixture on low heat until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees F, about 5 hours.
