Step 1

Cook pasta in a large saucepan of boiling, salted water, following packet directions. Drain well.

Step 2

Heat oil in same pan over medium-high heat. Cook garlic, anchovies and tomato paste for 1 minute or until fragrant. Add tomatoes. Bring to the boil. Add mussels. Cook, covered, for 4 to 5 minutes or until mussels open.

Step 3

Add pasta, parsley and basil. Season well with salt and pepper. Toss until heated through and well combined. Serve pasta topped with basil leaves (see note).
