Step 1
Put cookies in a large plastic bag and crush with rolling pin. (Some will stick to the bag. Just turn wrong side out and scrape off with a spoon) Do the same thing with the nuts. Combine cookie crumbs and crushed nuts in a large bowl along with the cream cheese. Mix with mixer.
Step 2
Roll into balls about the size of a small walnut with your hands. I got 20 cookies from this. Place in freezer for 10 to 15 minutes on a cookie sheet.
Step 3
Melt the chocolate chips and shortening together in the microwave. I usually melt for 1 minute and then stir until smooth but microwaves vary so be sure and watch so you don’t burn. You can use a toothpick and dip cookies in melted chocolate or just drop in with a spoon and cover.
Step 4
Place on a cookie sheet covered with wax paper and put in fridge for about an hour. Store in air tight container. I keep these in the fridge but they will keep in a cool place. Makes 20 cookies. Enjoy!
