Step 1
Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.

While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Add the crushed tomatoes, olives, bell pepper, and capers to the skillet and stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens and reduces slightly.

Drain the pasta and add it to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to combine and coat the pasta with the sauce.
Step 6
Divide the pasta among plates and top with chopped parsley and Parmesan cheese, if desired.
