Pasta & Broccoli Sausage Simmer

Sooo good! I used two red onions and a whole box (16oz) of pasta! Not bland at all like others said. All the flavors went great with each other. Will be making this again!

My husband made this...he tends to add his own zing to things but it was great to me. Would definitely make it again. I don't  know what people are talking about.

Everything in this is something I love, but somehow, the parts don't add up to the whole. It's edible. (I made it almost exactly according to recipe with the addition of garlic and parmesan and excluding the sugar. Also, those of you who complain that it's bland should make sure you've added salt

We loved it!  I made a few tweaks for my family. I added rotel instead of just tomatos, a Bell pepper and mushrooms.  ( We love veggis)  I added garlic as well, because well... Garlic.  It was so good.  I love that you can personalize this reciepe.  I think it would be good with whatever veggis you have, and definetly if you have family members who dont like the heat of rotel... just add regular can of tomatos.Thank you for sharing!

This recipe was easy & convenient, since I also have all the ingredients on hand.  Nice weeknight meal.

I loved this.  I used smoked turkey sausage and added garlic.  I did not have enough broccoli so also added in cauliflower.  It turned out good.

Hated it.  Threw out the leftovers.   So bland and uninspired.

Very easy, and with a few modifications super good. I dropped in a beef bouillon cube for a little more depth of flavor, about a tbsp of good quality balsamic vinegar, several cloves of sliced garlic, and I grated parmesan over it when it was done. Did NOT add the sugar--I don't know where the american tradition of putting sugar in tomatoes came from but I honestly can't stand it. Additionally, I used fire-roasted tomatoes which just made it fantastic.  Would definitely make again!

Delicious! I made a half recipe and used Italian tomatoes.  My son likes it with a little cheese, Italian blend shreds or Parmesan, but I think it's wonderful either way.  And so healthy-- especially with whole grain pasta!  Great lunch idea, too!

I made this as directed, only 1/2 amount.  Thought it was very good and will make again.

1# of sausage is plenty- and cuts the fat, the calories, cholesterol and sodium content in half. who needs 32 grams of fat?!  and use turkey or chicken sausage to further reduce all of the above...  I halve the sausage down the middle before slicing, and this spreads it through the dish abundantly. I also added more veggies: sliced green pepper, 1 large carrot, and one medium zucchini sliced like the sausage. I like the fire-roasted tomatoes, and brown sugar. :)

Very tasty, goes together quickly.  It tastes healthy, although the kielbasa probably detracts from that....oh so good.  Made this again with beef brats, perhaps cutting down a bit on the fat...

made this a couple of times and it is good, have also made it using canned chicken instead of the Kielbasa sausage.

Super Easy and tasty.  I used turkey Kielbasa. Love It!

Disappointed. Very much lacking in flavor. I wouldn't make again.

The original version of this would be perfect if my daughter was still small, since like most little kids, she didn't like anything spicy. However, since she's a teenager now, I decided to tweak it a bit, and loved how it turned out! I substituted two 10-ounce cans of mild Rotel tomatoes for the regular diced ones, added three small diced tomatoes from my garden, put in a healthy teaspoon of garlic and a half a cup of wine. Leaving out the sauteed red onions like that one negative reviewer did would be a big mistake -- they add a lot of flavor. BTW, my daughter loved it, too!

tried it without the sugar it is fine, I don't use sugar in dishes like this and it turns out ok. will make again ..sugarless

it's a good recipe, but needed some spice.  I added a Greek seasoning blend and fresh garlic.  For those that said it was bland.  Did you think the ingredients were magically going to turn into something else?  hardly any seasoning OF COURSE it's going to taste bland!

DO NOT MAKE THIS! I make home cooked meals 5 days a week. Usually my time in the kitchen is 1.5-2 hours, and so this recipe immediately caught my eye. I love cooking, but I was certainly deceived with this one. While I new it would be a little bland, I added garlic powder, fresh ground pepper, and even a little whipping cream to give it some more flavor/texture. We covered it with parm/asiago/romano cheese and it was still terrible. I personally think the 2 cans of tomatoes was way too much, overpowering, and I even picked some of them out. I didn't add the onions at all because it didn't say to cook them. Red onions are potent and I just didn't see them going in the recipe. Just do yourself and your family a favor, and pretend you never saw this recipe. I'm finding that this site doesn't have very good recipes, not compared to personal sites and Allrecipes.com. Hope this helps!

This is so good!  When I make it next time I won't cook the broccoli so long.  I left out the sugar because it didn't seem necessary.  I'm sure it would be just as good, if not better with the addition of some other vegetables.

This was a great, quick meal. I added some garlic and grated Parmesan cheese on top. To make it more healthy, use turkey kielbasa. I also used whole grain pasta.

This recipe is almost identical to one I found in a magazine several years ago. I made it for 3 servings, substituted 1 link of Italian sausage and one can of tomatoes, added a little garlic, oregano and basil. Fast, simple and very good.

Is CookingMommaof3 blind? The recipe clearly says to saute the onions. I think some people just like to rant about a recipe, while not having a clue. Read carefully  before you write. I thought it was good.
