Step 1
Bake cakes: Start by making the cake according to the package directions, baking in two 9-inch round pans. Make sure to grease the pans well so that the cakes will come out easily. Let the cakes cool completely before assembling the trifle.
Step 2
Whipped cream: Make the whipped cream filling, beat the cream cheese and sugar with an electric mixer until smooth(this should take about 2 minutes). Then, add in the vanilla extract and whipping cream, continue to mix for another 2-3 minutes.
Step 3
Assemble: After that, place one of the round cakes in a trifle dish and pour half of the whipping cream mixture on top. Smooth to cover the entire surface of the cake. Next, add most of the blueberries to the top of the whipped cream (save a few for the top). Proceed to place the other cake on top of the blueberry layer and then add the other half of the whipped cream mixture, smooth to cover the top again.
Step 4
Then refrigerate the trifle until ready to serve (you can make this up to 24 hours in advance) and then top with berries such as raspberries, strawberries and the remaining blueberries. Slice, serve and enjoy!
