all-purpose flour

salt

baking powder

unsalted butter

egg, slightly beaten

Peach Cobbler from Scratch

Place peaches in the bottom of a baking dish and sweeten, to taste, with a little sugar depending on ripeness. In medium mixing bowl, sift all dry ingredients. Cut in butter and add beaten egg. Mix until crumbly and sprinkle over fruit, covering all exposed fruit. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until golden.

I was making peach jam and had a lot of extra peaches so I decided to try this recipe. I have been looking for a good cobbler recipe for awhile now. This  is a keeper. I followed the recipe as written and will make it again. The topping had a nice crunch to it, you can taste the butter. I think I may add a little cinnamon next time, but it was still delicious without it. Thanks for sharing!

5 star after I modified, or 2 star! I used Splenda brown sugar, Sugar &amp; Splenda 50/50, WW flour Filling: 2 to 3 x peaches ~ 2 tbs Brown sugar, ~ 1 tbs Honey, ~ 2 - 3 tbs Brandy, 3 tbs Quick Tapioca ~ 1/2 Teaspoon Topping: You must double the recipe or you won't have enough! Butter: Increase to 1/2 cup 1/2 tsp Almond extract ~ 1/4 - 1/2 tsp Cinnamon I sprinkled it in so I am guessing on the measurement. I may lesson the sugar next time &amp; try using powdered sugar to obtain a flakier crust. Tip: Keep your butter ice cold, if you are doubling the recipe &amp; using a food processor you’ll need to do it in 2 batches. Mix everything together before you add the eggs and the extract so your flavors are even. All in all if you serve this recipe your friends &amp; family will go completely bananas! I can't stop eating it! I may have to get some help from one of those Food Addict Coaches ;-&gt; Best part of this recipe: Takes 10 minutes to prepare and it tastes like you spent hours making it!

This is always a big hit with my family and friends.  Easy and quite tasty. I use a bag of frozen peaches for the local grocery store with great success. 

This would be 5 star except the topping was spread very thin.  After the 1st time I began doubling that and it is great.  Friends and family ask for this at all the summer parties!

My girlfriend will never leave me now.  Months later she's still raving about it.  Can't wait til next summer.

IT'S AN EASY &amp; SIMPLE RECIPE THAT HAS A GREAT TASTE 2 IT, THIS YEAR 4 X-MAS I'M GOING 2 ADD BLUEBERRIES &amp; CHERRIES. 

This is more of a cross between a crisp and a cobbler, but it is wonderfully delicious.  And best of all, it is the easiest fruit dessert ever.  I recommend using a food processor to cut in the butter and mix the egg.  Excellence in simplicity!!!

Yum!  Added cinnamon and nutmeg plus pineapple and cherries.

OH,MY!!!! Absolutely love this recipe! I had a bushel of fresh, perfectly ripe peaches and added a little cinnamon to the crumble and peaches. Other than that, perfect recipe. Love how easy it is to make also. 

Visiting my brother in Virginia for the 4th of July....I realized they had everything but dessert...thinking quick on my feet...Food Network to the rescue...this recipe was quick and taste like it came from a bakery...Mmm, Mmm, Good!
