Ingredients: 1 can (10 ounces) frozen nonalcoholic pina colada mix, thawed; 1/2 cup sugar; 1/2 cup pineapple-orange juice; 1/8 teaspoon almond extract; 1/8 teaspoon coconut extract; 1-1/2 cups green grapes; 1-1/2 cups seedless red grapes; 1-1/2 cups fresh blueberries; 1-1/2 cups halved fresh strawberries; 1 can (8 ounces) pineapple chunks, drained; 1/2 cup fresh raspberries; Thinly sliced fresh mint, optional

Made this recipe this past weekend for a large group.  Fabulous flavor!  I used a few different fruits, what I had on hand: fresh pineapple, blueberries, green grapes, strawberries, a few kiwi. I tried red raspberries, but they fell apart as they soaked--I removed them!  As has been mentioned, the liquid was actually too much, so I froze about half of it for the next time--which will be soon!  I would also recommend either 1/2 of the sugar or none because of the sweetness of the fruits.  But we loved the extra sugar, of course.  Leftovers are wonderful!  The toasted coconut and mint leaves added just the right touch on top and are delicious when mixed in later.  Will be making again and again.

Too much liquid for the amount of ingredients.  Second time I made it, I eliminated the pina colada mix and orange juice.  I did add an apple, banana, cantaloupe and sprinkled lime juice over the salad with a sprinkle of kosher salt.  It worked for us.  Next day the juices from the fruit came out and was just as good.  The lime juice helped the apples and bananas from turning brown.  I guess it's a completely different recipe.

Great recipe! I made one change to the recipe. Instead of buying a Pina Colada drink mix, I used 1 c. of pineapple juice combined with 1 c. of Cream of coconut. Not only was it a little healthier, I think it tastes just as good.

I used fresh pineapple chunks, 9 oz. Pina Colada mix and 4 oz. Coconut Rum.  I added no juice.  It has a great flavor.  We made a meal of just the fruit.  Thank you.

Awesome salad!  I also omit the added sugar.  I have done this salad with a variety of melons, strawberries and blackberries.  The last time I went to make it, I didn't have pina colada mix wo I substitued margarita mix.  It was really good.

Just made it tonight and it is excellent! I did add just a splash of coconut rum and YUMMY!

Delicious!  Washed the fruit and made the dressing well in advance (left out 1/2 c sugar), chilled all in the fridge.  10 min before serving I mixed it together, adding toasted flaked coconut and fresh minced mint, chilled again until we ate.  Next time would only make 1/2 the dressing as there is plenty.  We loved this salad and so did our friends!  Keeper!

I have to be careful with sugar so I used Splenda (3 to 4 envelopes) instead.  Maybe next time I'll let the natural sugars do it for me.

Wow!  What wonderful flavor.  I made this for a summer party.  I enjoyed sitting back and watching people put it into their mouths the first time.  They had this strange looks, like "wow, what is on this fruit?!"  Everyone loved it!  I can't stay out of it.  I hope my husband gets rid of the juice before I hold the bowl up to my mouth and drink it!

i used fresh pineapple chunks and 1/2 can of the pc mix and 1/2 the sugar as well - mixed it all up and let it chill overnite in the fridge... so much better the next day - I served it over angel or plane pound cake and cool whip - so yum! next time I make this  will add some mango!

I made this for a family memorial day picnic that we are attending today.  It is a really good tasting salad and am hoping all members of family like it.  The only changeI made - instead of buying pineapple/orange juice (for 1/2 cup), I mixed some of the canned pineapple juice (from the pineapple called for) with orange juice to total 1/2 cup.  Worked fine.

OMG this is wonderful !!! I also left out the sugar , it's sweet enough without . My granddaughter-in-law and I eat this for breakfast and a late night snack . It's sooo good . And leaving off the sugar makes it less than 196 calories a 3/4 cup .

Followed the advice of everyone and left out the sugar and poured the dressing over the fruit before serving. It was the first thing my dinner guests commented on. They LOVED it and so did we.  Definitely a keeper.

My daughter's idea: mix the dressing and serve on the side allowing guests touse as they desire. Works great and keeps the fruit from getting soft.

I found that there was enough syrup to allow me to double the fruit. Also, blueberries weren't in season so I substituted blackberries that were this weeks grocery special. Would be great with either fruit.

This was delicious, everyone loved it.  I took the advice of several reviewers and did not add the sugar.  I also only used about a 1&1/3 cup of coating, which was plenty and I'd even use less next time.  The raspberries got a little soggy, but still tasted great.  It was gone from a group of 6 people at a dinner get-together and was an easy treat to bring.  :)

I've made this 3 times now and keep reducing the sugar -- I would not put in any sugar at all -- the fruit and the pina colada mix are PLENTY!!!  I get rave reviews each time I make it.  Very good and quite the crowd pleaser -- good to take to a potluck/picnic!

This is a very tasty salad! I took the sweet-meter one step higher by mixing the dressing with a box of instant vanilla pudding. Wow! Sweet? yes...delicious? yes. I didn't add the sugar and put about a quarter of the dressing on the salad (as other reviewers suggested). The pudding I served as a "topping". The salad was great and the topping was a yummy experiment.I only gave it 4 stars because, inexplicately, none of the kids liked the salad. Crazy kids!

This is actually a very versatile recipe!  I prepared the dressing separately and store it in a covered jar in the fridge, and add it as needed to whatever fruit I happen to have on hand when I want fruit salad.  (Our household consists of 3 people so I don't need a salad for 8.)  Usually I have canned pineapple, grapes, blueberries and strawberries, sometimes raspberries, occasionally apples and melon.  The dressing is good on all types of fruit.  However, the 1/2 cup of sugar seemed like too much, since the piña colada mix and pineapple-orange juice are already plenty sweet, so I reduced that by half, and I think you could leave the sugar out entirely.  Also, since I didn't have pineapple-orange juice, I just reserved 1/4 cup of the drained juice and added 1/4 cup of OJ.  If I were serving this salad at a fancy brunch I would consider sprinkling it with some toasted shredded pineapple just before serving.

Made this for a dinner party this weekend.  Loved it.  Could cut back on the sugar to maybe a 1 / 4 cup as the fruit and juices are sweet as well.  I did not have pineapple chunks but I did have crushed pineapple.  Using the juice from the pineapples combined with 1 / 4 cup of orange juice worked.  Mixed the crushed pineapple and the juicesl in with the pina colada mix.

I thought  this was a bit too sweet and the  Pina  Colada tasted  fake.  Since it was so sweet already I didn't add  the extra sugar.  My guests enjoyed it though. Maybe it is better when it sets as I see someone said in their review.
