Ingredients: 2 teaspoons paprika; 1 teaspoon onion powder; 1 teaspoon garlic powder; 2 tablespoons salt; 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper; 1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional); 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder; 2 tablespoons salt; 1 tablespoon ground cumin; 1/4 cup finely grated parmesan cheese (about 1/2 ounce); 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano; 1/2 teaspoon salt; 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper; 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional); 1 tablespoon curry powder; 2 tablespoons salt; 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper; 1 teaspoon turmeric; 1 pinch cayenne pepper

When our grandkids sleep over, we usually watch a movie; they like seasoned popcorn but we pefer the plain old buttered stuff! Thanx to Martha Stewart, we now spend a little quality time in the kitchen as each child &quot;cooks up&quot; a mix before &quot;show time&quot;! All of the variations can be doubled or tripled, depending on the size of the container you plan to use. The Italian mixture should be kept in the refrigerator, as it contains fresh cheese.

Popcorn Seasoning Mixes

paprika

onion powder

garlic powder

salt

black pepper

cayenne pepper (optional)

chili powder

cumin

parmesan cheese (about 1/2 ounce)

oregano

red pepper flakes (optional)

curry powder

turmeric

cayenne pepper

Place all of the ingredients in a medium bowl; stir until they are combined, and transfer to an airtight container for storage.

I enjoyed the curry popcorn seasoning, but found it a little too salty.  To counter the salt, I cut it back to about half what is suggested in the recipe, and added a tablespoon of Splenda sweetener.  The sweetener plays well off the curry, tames down the salt, and the spice mix tends to stick to the popcorn a bit better.    The curry popcorn seasoning is now by far my fav!
