Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2

Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Step 3

In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.

Stir in the flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons of the salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of the pepper until smooth.

Add the broth and bring the mixture to a boil.

Step 6

Cook while stirring, until thickened, about 1 minute.

Transfer the saucepan from the heat.

In a large skillet, heat the oil.

Add the pork chops and cook until browned on all sides, about 3 minutes per side.

Season the pork with the salt and the pepper.

Layer the potatoes and the onion in the prepared baking dish.

Pour the broth mixture over the layers in the baking dish.

Place the pork chops on top of the layers in the dish.
