Quick and Easy Peach Cobbler

unsalted butter, melted

flour

white sugar

milk

peaches

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).


Mix self-rising flour, sugar, and milk together in a bowl until well combined and no lumps remain.


Pour melted butter into a 9- or 10-inch cast iron skillet. Pour flour-milk mixture over top.


Carefully pour peaches and syrup into the skillet. Use a spatula to spread peaches evenly around the pan.


Bake in the preheated oven until the crust turns golden brown, 30 to 45 minutes.


Remove from the oven and let cool for about 10 minutes before serving.


This is EXTREMELY greasy if you melt the butter in the pan first. I prefer to use the same measurements, but I mix all ingredients except for the peaches together. Put the peaches in the pan first and THEN the batter on top. It's really good that way (a recipe that has been in my husband's family for decades!). 

I have been making this recipe for years. My Swede-heart loves it. 
Only thing I have changed was adding 1/4tsp nutmeg and 1/2 tsp cinnamon to the flour mixture. Comes out perfect everytime!

I have a similar recipe that was given to me 45 years ago by a friend, who got it from her mother.
The only difference was the flour.  My recipe called for all purpose flour, plus 2 teaspoons of baking powder.  This one is even easier!


Very yummy and very easy!  I did not have self-rising flour on hand but thanks to a previous reviewer I was able to substitute all purpose flour and 2 tsp. baking powder and it worked great!  I have also divided this recipe in half and baked in a 2 round cake pans, using a different fruit in each pan.  Recipe divides easily and provides other choices for the pickier eaters in our family!

This is a great recipe and it is so easy to make.  I followed the suggestion to add cinn. and nutmeg to the flour mixture and also used the "fruit crispy topping" recipe from this site as a topping for the cobbler. They went great together. Thanks so much for submitting it!

Very Good , We just finished it off! I did make changes as per reviews. I melted margarine in pan, 2 cans of peaches- but only 1 can of juice-I sprinkled about 1 tsp each of cinamon and pumpkin pie spice on the peaches. Poured peaches over margarine and sprinkled 1/4 cup light brown sugar. I used flour and 1 tsp baking powder,sugar+ milk,2tsp vanilla and a pinch of salt.Wisked together and poured over the peaches and around the sides. Placed a baking sheet under dish, for drips. Baked @ 350* for 30min and then 400* on the top shelf for 20 minutes. Take out and let sit for at Least 10minutes-it sets better and won't burn your mouth! I served it warm with ice cream and and a little whipped topping! Perfect!! The only change I would make next time is to spray the pan 1st. It wasn't greasy or mushy. The person who said it didnt rise probably didnt use self rising flour or didnt add baking powder? Thanks too all, I've been on this site for 1 yr now - Love it!! :)

In spite of my high review, it really wasn't good at all!  I did substitute bacon fat, for the butter, salt, for the sugar, and canned spinach for the peaches.  It was completely inedible.  Where did I go wrong?  I also baked it at 200 degrees for 5 hours, could that have been why it wasn't good?  I followed the recipe exactly, except for the substitutions I made.

This is the recipe my husband's grandma used to make.  He was thrilled to have me make it last night.  I followed the recipe exactly, baked for 40 mins, and it turned out wonderfully.  Between my husband and 3 kids, it was gone this morning!

I was a bit skeptical that something this easy could be so good.  But the cobbler was delicious and definitely the easiest I've ever made.  I did add 1/4 tsp nutmeg and 1/2 tsp cinnamon to the flour mixture AND sprinkled additional cinnamon on top.  Yummy served warm with vanila ice cream!

This is the worst Peach Cobbler recipe I ever made. The crust would not rise and it tasted bad.

A great blast from my past. Before cooking took on an art form for me I just loved the taste of good food. This recipe is quick, easy and made from supplies most have in their pantry. Adding fresh cherries or cranberries is a great twist. Thanks for sharing.

WONDERFUL.  ADD NUTMEG AND CINNAMON FOR SURE AND PUT PEACHES ON BOTTOM AND FLOUR MIXTURE ON TOP.  MIX BUTTER IN WITH FLOUR MIXUTE.  DID THIS WITH CHICHEN AND NOODLES RECIPE HERE YUM YUM YUM

Great and easy recipe!  I used more peaches.  You can never have enough fruit &amp; I made it slightly different.  I took 1 cup of the peach juice added 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1 tbsp of cornstarch, a pinch of salt, 1 tsp of nutmeg and cooked over medium heat until it boiled and was nice and thick....then I added 1 tbsp of lemon juice.  Once I added my peaches to the sugar/flour/milk mixture ....I then added my peach juice and sprinkled cinnamon.  I cooked mine until it was nice and brown on top...about 45-50 minutes.  Very good!  But next time I'm going to add more peach juice...I like a juicy peach cobbler, but over all very good especially with vanilla bean ice cream!  My husband loved it and I will definitely make this again!

I doubled all ingredients except the butter and peaches for 9x13,don't see how there would be enough crust without doing so.It was perfect,I did sprinkle  sugar and cinnamon mix over top after it was done.Thanks it was yummy!

me and my family think this is a wonderful recipe!  i did make a few changes, tho....for starters, i made a double batch....2 cups of flour and sugar...i didn't have milk so i used powdered milk and mixed the milk thick...and, i used 5 cans of peaches...the ones cut in halves....i started out by melting the butter and putting it in bottom of baking dish...then dumped the flour and sugar in...poured in the milk and dumped a bunch of cinnamon on top...probably about two tablespoons...took a fork and mixed it all together, then put two cans of peaches in with juice and 3 without....the cans were the 15.5 oz size....kinda folded the peaches in and put in the oven....it came out tasting delicious!  kinda reminded me of a breadpudding with peaches in it...the best part was the top, as it was carmelized.....love this recipe....i've made it twice in the last two days...next time i make it i'm going to put fresh blueberries in it....can't wait!

This is my grandma's any kind of fruit cobbler, only she called it "Dribble Pie".  She most often made it with blackberries, but I have made it with almost every kind of fruit, even strawberries.  For frozen fruit, thaw and bring to a boil with 1/2 to 1 cup of sugar.  My granny's original recipe called for the batter to be poured into the butter, then the fruit poured on top.  I have had better luck, however, pouring the fruit into the butter, then pouring the batter on top of the fruit.  I did have a problem one time with the dough not rising, but when I tasted it I realized I had used plain flour instead of self-rising!

This recipe is so easy and yummy! its great!  throw in some cinnamon, or use the pre-seasoned peaches they have in the store around Thanksgiving, and its even better!

My neighbor gave me this recipe, but added 1 tsp. vanilla, 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, and used peaches in light syrup instead of heavy(the light tastes just as good as the heavy and saves a few calories). for thicker pieces, I also bake it in a 8x8 or 9x9 pan for just a touch longer than the 9x13 calls for.  It is heavenly served warm with ice cream! Adding the nutmeg sounds good--I'll try that next time.  It's a fast, easy dessert that everyone loves! 

I gave this a 3 star because as the recipe is, I don't think it would have turned out very well, however, I made some changes based on the reviews of others and it turned out wonderfully! My recipe is as follows : 1 cup all purpose flour, 2 tsp baking powder, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 tsp cinnamon - mix then add 1 cup milk (I use alternative Almond milk but any milk works) and 1/2 cup of butter. Pour 2 cans of peaches with syrup in the bottom of a 9x13" pan and top with the flour mix. Bake 40 min at temp. I think a lot of the negative reviews of goop and not setting up were because people just used all purpose flour without the baking powder and the recipe calls for self rising flour. Hope this helps some of you.

What do you mean 18 servings????  I thought this made 4?  :) I did use pie filling instead and added cinnamon and a little vanilla.  Excellent recipe!  Always tasty! 

I did not enjoy this cobblr at all! The consistency was icky and it tasted like baked cream of wheat with peaches. Plus it took way longer than 40 minutes and it still wasn't ready! My mom liked it though. Maybe she didn't want me to feel bad!

I am an American living in Portugal and this recipe tastes nearly the same as the cobblers that my grandmother used to make after we picked fresh blackberries on our farm in Kentucky. All of my friends love it here! I cut the sugar down to 1/2 cup for the sake of my kids. I think it is plenty tasty without so much sugar and you can add other incredients, too. I have mixed apples and raisins, too. My Portuguese friends love it! Thanks!

This is a great dish. We loved it very much. Watch closly as it cooks: don't over cook. I have made it twice and thought it was great both times.

The title is definitely appropriate on this one.  I served it to my in laws and hubby who all really liked it.  I will be making this again but next time I will add an extra can of peaches one was not quite enough for the 9 X 13 pan.  I also added nutmeg and cinnamon.  I think next time I will add a little vanilla.

I've made this recipe twice and it was DELICIOUS! I WAS AMAZED TO FIND A RECIPE FOR A PEACH COBBLER TO BE SO SIMPLE AND EASY TO MAKE.  INSTEAD OF USING FLOUR I USED BISQUICK THEN I SPRINKLED A 1/2 TEASPOON OF CINNAMIN OVER IT!

So EASY!!! I made this today for the first time and it was delicious. After looking at several comments, I decided to combine a little of them all. I doubled ingredients (flour, sugar, milk) except the butter. Into the mix I combined 1/2 tsp cinnamon, and 1/4 tsp nutmeg and melted butter (mix together until smooth). pour 3 cans of peaches with heavy syrup in a 13x9 pan, to this add 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp nutmeg and 1 tsp vanilla extract(to taste) and mix together. Pour batter on top and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.(optional) I Cooked my cobbler for an hour on 350..Wouldn't change a thing...next time I will try a crispy crust.

This wasn't bad by any means but it took a lot longer than the recipe states to cook, and was still quite runny... and really ridiculously sweet... if I make it again I will reduce the amount of sugar and leave out the syrup. :)

I have made this recipe for years. The only thing I do different is add 1 teaspoon almond extract to the peach juice and sprinkle cinnamon on the top before baking. This makes it excellent.

Very good and easy. For me it turned out to be a

I'll make it again.I do agree, a little to much butter
when melted in oven, next time, I will add to rest of ingredients.

Love this recipe!  Super easy and super delicious!  I have been making this recipe for a number of years.  My dad expects this for his birthday every year.  The only change I have made, since my dad is diabetic, is substituting Splenda for the white sugar. Turns out perfect every time!

The cobbler never firmed up- even after an hour and 15 minutes in the oven! While it was completely unfit to serve, I have to say that my family did enjoy the taste. I definitely won't be making this again.

This was a great peach cobbler. My husband LOVED it! I added just a dash of nutmeg and about 1/2 tsp of cinnamon. 

Grandma called this "WashDay Pie"... you can make it with blueberries, apples, and seedless cherries too! It's a wonderful easy dessert! Don't forget to break out the vanilla icecream!

Pretty good for being so easy.  Mine took a little more than 40 minutes to brown.  It might have been because my peaches weren't in heavy syrup.

My grandmother from Texas gave us a recipe similar to this one.  We use 3/4 c. flour, 3/4 c. milk instead of the 1 c.  We also add 2 tsp. of baking powder.  I sometimes add a little cinnamon to the batter.  The cobbler tastes better with fresh peaches.  If you use fresh peaches...add a little sugar to the peaches and set aside as you mix your batter.

This would have been really good if I hadn't used all low fat ingredients. The dough doesn't brown if all low fat used. Next time I will use more regular items instead of low or no fat.

I made this for the adults at a birthday party and I tell you it was gone before I knew it. I didn't get a chance to taste it but everyone said it was very good.I will be making it again. Thanks for sharing

I have made peach cobbler from many recipes but this was by far the worst I have ever made or ever tasted. It would never seemed to get done. And the taste was not that great either. It was flat and just simply awful.

Make sure you use self rising flour and bake about 15 minutes longer.  My grandmother made fruit cobblers this way and she called it the 3 cup cobbler.  You can use any kind of canned or fresh fruit or berries

This recipe was a very easy to follow I love it and it was my first time making it and here is a extra tip I used two teaspoon of nutmeg and 2 teaspoon of cinnamon also I add two cap full pure lemon extract and it taste yummy-yummy....Theresa

Like many others, I have been using this recipe for years and years and added my own twist to it by adding spices. I don't put anything extra in the batter, I just sprinkle the top with cinnamon right before  baking.  I also smash the peaches through my fingers when putting the peaches in.  The butter is a must, in my opinion, it gives the crust a nice crunchy texture to compliment the the soft texture of the rest of the cobbler. Also, try a scoop of vanilla ice cream straight out of the oven......mmm, everybody loves this peach cobbler....'ala mode'...

It was definitely easy, but I was not really pleased with the final result.  It was more like a bread pudding in consistency, but more importantly the flavor was entirely unimpressive.  No more shortcuts for me.

Wonderful!!! and so easy to make that my 7 year old granddaughter made it all "by herself".  I did have her sprinkle some cinnamon on the top for a little extra flavor.

I was so happy to find this recipe.  I had it over 30 yrs. ago.  I never wrote it down because it was so easy to remember. Never thought I would just forget about it.  I do reduce the sugar and milk to 3/4 cup each.  I also bake it in a casserole dish.  I now bake one at least once a week.  I have also used blackberries in place of peaches.

I loved this recipe! I had it 20 years ago. I'm glad to run across it again. It is amazing how easy it is. I gave it to my mom and she loved it also. The cinnamon on top is a great addition.

I didn't read the reviews first (I usually do and wish I had). While I need the extra butter for the calories for my mom, I had way too much liquid and drained off some after the cooking. I will add spices next time and put the peaches in first with a LOT less liquid.

We thought that this was a very good cobbler.  I added about a teaspoon of almond extract to the batter and it was great.  I even goofed by buying peaches in juice instead of syrup.  I added a little sugar to the juice to make my own syrup and the cobbler turned out great.

Love the taste and simplicity of this recipe! I followed reviewer recommendations to mix the melted butter in with the other ingredients instead of pouring the butter into the pan first. This is the best cobbler ever(not better than my moms but still) LOL Ok I dont use mile I use water and it still comes out good... I love love love this cobbler!!! My whole family loves this cobbler my mom even uses it when she is pressed for time... And that says alot cuz she is the baker in the family and this is her quick fix...

Thought this recipe was very good. Did add some cinnamon and thought it needed to cook a little longer.  It is hard to tell when the bottom is brown. But very tasty. My family loved it.

Not Good. After cooking for nealy an hour, it was soupy and mushy. Not good. Will not make again!

I'm a beginning cook and I made this recipe for my family...so far I've had to make 3 since the original... they loved it!!!

This was very good the only things I chnged was I put sugar and cinamon on top and cooked 15 mins longer than the recipe called for.

This was tasty! I did not have self-rising flour so I followed others suggestion of adding 2tsp of baking powder to all-purpose flour (and about 1/4 tsp of salt). I used margarine instead of butter because that's what I had. I had two 15oz can of peaches (one off brand and one can Del Monte spiced peaches)--I used all of the peaches and most of the syrup (maybe too much syrup?).  I had to bake it 1hr but it was quick and easy!

I really tried to like this! The cobbler came out like goop. The only "crust" was the bit at the top but the bottom was just goopy and tasted like flour. I followed directions step by step and am very upset with the results. Will not be trying this again. Good flavor (besides the flour) but could use lots of improvements!

Great recipe! Fast and easy.  I did take the advice of other reviewers.  1) I didn’t have self rising flour so added 2 teaspoons of baking powder to all purpose flour 2) I put peace’s on the bottom 3) I used only half the butter and added it to the flour mix  along with 1 teaspoon cinnamon, some nutmeg, and some vanilla and 4) I used a brown sugar and stevia mix instead of white sugar.    My husband really liked the addition of the nutmeg.

I added vanilla flavoring because my husband doesn't like cinnamon and it turned out great.

I really enjoyed this cobbler. Simple and tasty too! I followed the recipe steps but altered it slightly. I make this cobbler all the time as a base for any fruit cobbler. Peaches are not in season now so I used 3 Granny Smith apples, pealed and sliced and tossed with 2 tablespoon sugar.  When using some fruits, such as apples, I throw in a little nutmeg and cinnamon.  I also add a tablespoon vanilla.  Sometimes I thow berries in for extra punch.  Very adaptable recipe and so easy.

It was easy to make and very sweet, I used cinnamon in the flour mixture.. I didn't like the dough cooked in pie..will try another recipe that you brown bottom crust and then add peaches and top crust cooked on bottom crust

I love this recipe, and have made it several times.  It really doesn't get much easier!  I also add a little cinnamon to mine, as well as almost a cup of fresh blueberries.  (You could probably use thawed, frozen ones as well.)  DELICIOUS!

This was a great recipe;however, I substituted carnation milk in the place of regular milk.

I really liked this recipe. It is easy and you can make various substitutions without changing the basics of the recipe. For instance, I will add a bit of vanilla and cinnamon to the batter. I have also tried different types of fruit (like canned pineapple). Sometimes I will use coconut oil in place of the butter. However, the recipe if 5 stars because it is an excellent base to start from and good as written as well.

it was ok, it lacked flavor since it was greasy. the crust top was delicious it have it stone flavor asking with the ice cream.

This is an old family favorite, my great grand mother passed it down.  For peach you really need to add cinnimon.  Switch off with cherries, apples, even blueberries and pinapple!  Always great! Can also used bisquick for the 1 cup of flour works great too.

This is the EASIEST recipe ever... family and friends ask for it every time and I keep it a good secret lol..  I add brown sugar sometimes and cinnamon if i don't have that pumpkin pie spice works as well and a little bit of vanilla. :) People Love this! My sister in law called for it last thanksgiving it's that serious!
