Step 1

If your shrimp is frozen, place it in a colander and run cool water over the shrimp for a couple of minutes or until thawed. If your shrimp is shell-on or tail-on, remove the shell and tail.

Step 2

Pat the shrimp dry with a paper towel.

Step 3

Add the butter and olive oil to a large skillet.

Step 4

Heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat on the stove-top until the butter is melted and is beginning to foam.

Step 5

Add the prepared shrimp to the skillet and cook the shrimp on each side just until pink and opaque, about 1-3 minutes per side. Be very careful not to overcook the shrimp.

Step 6

Add the garlic and 1 tablespoon of the lemon juice to the skillet.

Step 7

Continue to sauté the shrimp in the garlic butter until the raw edge is cooked out of the garlic, about 1 minute.

Step 8

Season the shrimp with the salt, freshly cracked black pepper, and chopped parsley.

Step 9

Toss to combine, then serve.
