Step 1

*For the simple syrup, combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat

Step 2

Simmer until the sugar is dissolved, then let cool to room temperature

Step 3

Syrup will keep, tightly covered, in the refrigerator for up to 1 month

Step 4

Makes about 1 ½ cups

Step 5

Add the brandy, orange liqueur, simple syrup and orange bitters to a cocktail shaker

Step 6

Add ice, shake to chill and strain into an ice-filled wine goblet

Step 7

Top with Lambrusco and garnish with orange twist and rosemary sprig
