Step 1

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray.

Add softened butter, powdered sugar, eggs, sour cream, flour, and lemon or vanilla extract to a mixing bowl. Beat with an electric mixer at medium speed until well-combined, about 4-5 minutes.

Step 3

Pour batter into the greased loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it onto a wire rack to cool completely. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
