Easy, simple, and very tasty! Fairly low carb as well. I didn't refrigerate, seeing a note by someone that she puts hers right into the oven, it was fine! Great use of extra eggs.

Had this at our wedding brunch 30 years ago and make it for holidays or visitors.   I do not mix it... layer it instead.  Bread, then cooked sausage,  then cheese, then the egg mixture.   The only time I mixed it,  it was too gooey.   You can\'t ruin this dish though.  Tried diff breads, diff cheese... but the sausage is the flavor base, so don\'t use a bland sausage.   I no longer refrigerate at night... goes right in the oven.  But, if we have company for brunch it does save time to prep night before... but remember to warm at room temp for 30 minutes or it won\'t cook thru.  Easy and delish!!!

My family loved this dish!!! I used Jimmy Dean sausage bits prepackaged and diced ham to save time, I cubed 5 slices of 3-cheese artisan bread, used 12 eggs, 1.5 cups milk, 2 cups Mexican cheese blend and added onion powder, garlic powder and salt & pepper. Scrumptious!! I was worried it’d be dry but it was perfectly moist.

I used my favorite chicken and artichoke sausage and it was delicious! My family loved this dish.

I like that you can prepare this ahead of time. I added diced red pepper and green onions for a little color and spice, and it was great.

I used my leftover homemade Christmas sausage, vegetable and bread dressing and added the salt, mustard, milk, eggs and cheese as directed to make a delicious after Christmas breakfast casserole.

This was great! My parents need something softer and this was perfect as well as very tasty. Maybe next time I will try it with some sauteed onions...

I think this dish really depends on quality of sausage used. (The better the flavor of sausage, the better the end result.) For us, this dish comes out perefect everytime....it\'s a great, easy to follow recipe. Love that you can make the night before and save on prep time (which is aces for a morning event), but I have also made without letting it set overnight and still comes out wonderful.

This was easy to assemble and turned out Great! I gave it a 4.5 since I decided to add seasoning salt, parsley, and diced onion for some extra flavor my family enjoys.

This recipe is great for a crowd when you don't want to be standing at the stove or waiting on the toaster. It was simple to make and prep ahead of time. It tasted great and was easy to serve.

This has become my go to breakfast casserole. Everyone loves it. The ingredients are simple & easy to have on hand. Goes together quickly & bakes up perfectly!

Wow! This was awesome! I made it Christmas morning, and it didn't soak for 8 hours overnight but it turned out just fine. To add a little more "zip," I put in some diced green pepper and some Pepper Jack cheese. I also used mozarella cheese instead of cheddar. I'll definitely be making this again. The whole family enjoyed it.

Great recipe--I consider myself a connoisseur of breakfast recipes, always looking for ways to boost protein for my 2 boys to begin each day. This recipe proved to be not too mushy, as some recipes with egg and bread tend to be. Just to be sure, I did toast the bread before cubing, and I cooked 5-10 minutes longer than recipe read.

I took a chance on this recipe and it failed miserably! Before the boiling mixture even got to 242 degrees, it started smelling slightly burnt. I immediately pulled it off the burner and dumped in my marshmellows. After combining everything together and beating, the consistency was not what I expected. I added powdered sugar in hopes it would stiffen up but that ended in failure as well. The taste is not impressive either, burnt marshmallow with a bad after taste is not what I plan to serve people. I scraped the edges of my bowl in the trash and I'm starting over on the hunt for a great stiff marshmallow frosting.

Great recipe, easy to prepare, inexpensive, and no fuss in the morning when people are hungry. I like to use Chorizo sausage with red and green bell peppers for a southwest flavor. I want to try it with potatoes too ( must pre-cook potatoes. ) Made three for Thanksgiving morning , all different ingredients, all came out great.

I'd love to make this but would like to know if this can be made then frozen for later?...

This goes over great for family brunch. I always have to make two pans because everyone loves it.

I make this for New Year's brunch every year. I use a bag of seasoned croutons instead of the bread. I also sometimes add a chopped up onion and/or red bell pepper when I'm cooking the sausage. Everybody enjoys it, and being able to put it together the night before is a real bonus since I'm not a morning person. ;-)

Great recipe. I made this for a Sunday morning and added some green peppers, red peppers and onions. I like these recipes because they're basic and you can add what you want to suit your family's personal taste.

One of our family\'s favorite recipes!  I frequently substitute 2 cups cubed ham when I have leftover ham.  Our family actually prefers it that way.

This is a great easy and tasty recipe. I like that it doesn't use a ridiculous amount of eggs and milk to where you have to make a special trip to the store. I changed it up by using dried whole wheat bread cubes as well as my own seasoned breakfast sausage. I also left out the salt because the sausage and cheese have quite a bit of salt in them. I also change it up if I don't have pork sausage and will do bacon. It's also easy to add in some sautéed onions and peppers if you really want to give it flair. This is my favorite non-potato breakfast casserole.

Used trader joes gluten free bread and it turned out amazing. I mixed up the eggs and cut up bread then had them soaking while I cooked up the sausage then in the oven it went. Exactly 40 mins was perfection. I added fresh herbs from the garden, some garlic powder and a garlic clove while cooking the sausage. This is an amazing base recipe!
