Savory Hamburger Supper

(14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes

(7.25 ounce) package macaroni and cheese mix

Heat a 3-quart saucepan over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef and onion in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes; drain and discard grease.


Return pan to heat and season ground beef mixture with chili powder. Pour water into the saucepan and bring to a boil. Stir corn, tomatoes, and macaroni into the mixture; bring to a simmer and cook until the macaroni is tender, about 10 minutes.


Sprinkle contents of cheese packet from macaroni and cheese package over the mixture; stir.


Easy. Fast. Not a ton of dirty dishes. Kids ate it. Husband ate it. SCORE!  We doubled it and had lots of good leftovers.

Delicious! I did switch things up a bit. I used ground turkey and cooked some fresh garlic with the onion. i also used a combo of a 10oz can of rotel diced tomatoes and green chiles and 4.5oz of tomato sauce.

Make it with Velveeta shells and cheese, and I think it made it super creamy! Quick dish!

It was easy to make and yummy. I added more pasta and 1 small can of tomato sauce. I will definitely make it again.

My hamburger is in two pound chubs so I doubled the recipe, everything except the corn and the diced tomatoes. I left those at one can each because I was scared the tomatoes would make it too soupy. It turned out wonderful! I wish I could've made it a bit cheesier because, come on, who doesn't like a little more cheese? I might try shells and cheese next time to give it that creamy cheese sauce as seen in one of the reviews. Will absolutely be making this again!

It was very good and filling! I think I will omit or add less onions the next time I make it though, that's just a personal preference of mine.

Loved how fast and easy this was! Could have used a little more seasoning but my 7 yr old loved it the way it was.

Other than my preference for a little more salt on my food, this was excellent. The best part about this recipe is it’s ability to be adjusted. I’ll try it with Mexican style shredded cheese next time and maybe add more or different veggies to it. I want try it with ground lamb as well. Thank you for a great starter recipe.

So easy and fast! The only thing I changed was adding Italian seasoning and garlic powder. I topped it with shredded cheddar cheese. My kids are 9 and 6 years old and both loved it! I also added a little Sriracha to mine. Definitely a keeper!

This is VERY BLAND and not good at all. Once completed I had to completely re-season the entire dish. Will never make again

The  whole family loved this recipe.  I made the recipe as is with no changes.

Very easy!  I added real bacon bits and Cheddar cheese. The bacon just sets it off.

This was quick and easy to make.  I substituted ground chicken in place of ground beef.  My family really liked this.

First time making making and we love it!! The only difference I accidentally made was that I added to much pasta. But still great!!!

Easy enough but bland.  Needs a lot of help in the taste department.

Quick and easy!! Additionally, added 2 cloves garlic , 7-8 twists of this:  ( large sea salt and dried red pepper flakes into a fresh salt/pepper grinder) and cooked this with the ground beef and onion.  That way the hamburger was tasty even on its own.  I then followed directions as stated.  I did have to transfer from 8" to 10" skillet to keep from overflow (or I'm  just messy). My son does not like tomatoes one bit! So, I just picked them off, being they were large enough, and served it to him - and HE LOVED IT!!!  Thank you

It was easy, but I think it needed salt and pepper added. Also did not thicken until we let it sit for ten minutes.

I added some extra chili powder and melted cheddar over it. Kids loved it.

Tasted really good but just a little dry. I used 2 pounds of hamburger and all it needed was another can of diced tomatoes.

Made as directed. Delicious!! Made lots, perfect for leftovers. This will be a go to recipe for years to come!

This was a quick and convenient meal.I had to add some salt,pepper and other spices to make it tasty.

I'll use a lot more spices next time, but this a great starter recipe!
