I truly enjoy trying new recipes and baking hearty casseroles like this one for my family. This dish is easy to prepare, and baking the chops with the potatoes give the whole meal great flavor.

Scalloped Potatoes and Pork Chops

potatoes

onion

Salt and pepper

(10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted

sour cream

pork loin chops (1 inch thick)

fresh parsley

Has TONS of potential. But I must admit this recipe had very little instructions. Like I’m assuming we should have seasoned the pork before cooking. And also likely put a little oil or something to be able to brown it. I didn’t do this and the pork was meh on the taste scale. 

Also the onions were not fully cooked the way the instructions work. I think it would have added more flavor if we sautéed them a bit before adding the potatoes. 

Next time I will do this in one oven-safe pan, first brown the pork (after seasoning and in a pan with a touch of oil),  then add the onions to sauté in the pork fat  (after removing the pork). Then do the steps with the potatoes.

Whenever I make this recipe, I add a few teaspoons of onion soup mix to the sour cream and mushroom soup and use sliced onions instead of chopped.  Very delicious!!

This is a great dinner idea. I am baking it now for the second time. We love it. I added more sour cream this time

This is one of my son's favorite ways to have pork chops!!

This is very good. I love scalloped potatoes. This recipe is much easier and faster than making a bechamel sauce from scratch. The onions and sour cream are very good.

Simple and good.  Cut in half for the two of us - probably could be in oven shorter time when halved.  Served with lettuce/shredded cheese and Western dressing and garlic bread.  Will try with chicken breast, too.  Use other half soup and sour cream next day for a tuna/noodle casserole.

This came out great, for added flavor I added some sherry, 2 tbsp ketchup and a little brown sugar to the sauce ingredients and browned the chops on the grill instead of pan frying - Came out great

We had this for dinner yesterday and absolutely loved it.  We used cream of mushroom with roasted garlic soup and even my 12 year old grandson thought it was a terrific dinner.  This is a keeper

We LOVE this recipe at our house.  So easy, made with simple ingredients that can be altered a bit for healthfulness (light or non-fat sour cream, light soup, etc.).I do sometimes add a sprinkling of shredded cheddar or a mixed variety over the top of the potato layers.  Not necessarily a healthy addition, but a yummy one!!  Also, additional sour cream or a little milk can always be added to moisten this up if necessary, but we've never had  a problem!This is a winner!

The pork chops came out dry.  The sauce needed something more as I can not have salt.  It was very bland.

Personally my best dish to make. Very simple and tasty. Made this plenty of times and has always been a personal favotite of mine and my family. Would recommend (don't let the mushroom soup scare you) !!!

Delicious, one pan, easy, and very filling....just perfect for my family.  Will make this recipe a part of our regular menu.

Good recipe....but I add about 1 cups of milk to made sauce creamier.

Good, easy weeknight recipe. I added a little bit of milk to the sour cream/mushroom soup mixture.

Have made it for years, and it's in the oven right now! Chops are tender and tasty, and there's lots of sauce for the potatoes. A keeper!

not much beats a good potato and pork recipe!

This is a super easy & very tasty recipe.  My hubby loves it as does everyone who comes over for a hearty meal.  While the cream of mushroom soup may not be the healthiest option (that is one long list of ingredients on the can!), it is still a great standby recipe with ingredients that can easily be on hand at minimal expense.  I've also found success in upping the cooking temp to make up for not enough alloted cooking time, which has worked perfectly.  All around a great one!
