Preheat the oven to 375°F. Spray a 15x10 inch baking sheet/jelly-roll pan with non-stick baking spray. You can also line the baking sheet pan with parchment paper.

Cream together butter, brown sugar, and sugar.

Add in vanilla extract and eggs, and mix until well combined.

Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl. Gradually beat in the flour mixture. Mix until combined.

Stir in the chocolate chips; reserve 1/4 cup.
Step 6
Press the cookie dough into an even layer throughout the bottom of the pan.
Step 7
Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top of the cookie dough.
Step 8
Bake for 20 to 24 minutes. The edges will look golden brown, and the middle will be set up.
Step 9
Allow to cool in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into bars.
