Slow-Cooker Corn Chowder

2% milk

(14-3/4 ounces) cream-style corn

(10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted

corn

frozen shredded hash brown potatoes

onion,

parsley flakes

butter

Salt and pepper

bacon parsley

In a 3-qt. slow cooker, combine all ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.

This was easy to assemble and cook for a quick weeknight meal.  I did not have ham on hand so did not add it.  It was creamy and thick but seemed to be lacking something.  Also, the onions did not completely cook, although I cooked the soup as directed.  May need more seasoning, or maybe the ham really made a difference?

This was very good. I only had skim milk available but I wanted to have the liquid creamier so I used a 12oz. can of evaporated milk and added the skim milk until I had the amount called for in the recipe. Otherwise, I made it as directed. Next time, I think I will reduce the frozen corn to 1 1/4 cups , just personal preference.

<p>My husband and I loved this soup, which I tweaked a bit, since some reviewers said it was bland. First I added extra onions that I sautéed in butter. When they were almost done sautéing, I added 4 cloves of chopped garlic. I find when using a slower cooker, the onions do not get done enough to my liking - so I generally sauté them before adding to the slow cooker. I put this in the slow cooker, along w/ the other ingredients listed, except I added about 3/4 cup extra potatoes (I used diced not shredded potatoes -didn’t make a difference), and 3/4 cup additional ham. I used 2% milk, as it called for - maybe because of the extra portions of onions, ham and potatoes that I added, the soup was very creamy. I served it with a little grated cheddar-amazing!! It will definitely be added to our dinner rotation!</p>

<p>Followed every detail. Used InstaPot 6 hours.  My finely chopped yellow onions were not cooked and TOUGH.  Next time I’ll believe reviews that said the same thing.  Discarded</p>

I thought this recipe was going to be from scratch, not using a can of mushroom soup.

Excellent and easy recipe.  I switched up the milk for half and half.  Made it very creamy.  I also added a little chicken bullion to enhance the flavor

I have been making this recipe for many years. Every fall my kids start asking me when I'll make it.  The only thing I change is I use 1 1/2 cup evaporated milk and 1 cup 2% milk.  This gives it a more creamy texture but not too thick.  This one is a keeper for a lifetime.

Yummy and super easy soup!  I doubled the milk, soup and potatoes.  I used cream of celery soup and diced fresh potatoes instead of the frozen hash browns and cream of mushroom because that's what I had on hand.  Everyone loved this!  Great flavor, and the corn added a really delicious sweetness to it all.  Will definitely keep this recipe handy for the winter months coming up.  Loved the fact that you can throw it all in the slow cooker, walk away, and dinner serves itself!

I'm not sure what I did wrong but it didn't have any taste at all except for onion. Mine looked very clear, not creamy like the picture. I was very disappointed as it looks so good. Only think I changed was I used cubed hashbrowns instead of shredded so maybe that was what was wrong, they didn't break down to make it creamy? If I made it again I would saute the onion first or maybe just use onion powder.

Made this for soup supper at Church!  It was a HIT!  I used cream of broccoli soup instead of cream of mushroom.  YUMMY!!

This soup is so good! I make it quite often, since it is my 5-year-old's favorite. I usually make it on the stove and keep the temperature on low to medium low until it simmers, then simmer it for about 10 minutes longer (to cook the potatoes). Yummy!

This recipe is super easy and delicious!  I followed the recipe exactly but doubled it.  My husband and 7 year old loved it!  My husband loved the fact that it wasn't super thick but more soup-like.  Next time I think I'll try different variations like using cream of potato soup or adding bacon.
