Step 1
Combine all the dry ingredients in another bowl.Add the flour, salt,baking soda, oats and chocolate chips to form a uniform mixture.

Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Take care not to over mix the dough as it can cause tough cookies

Add the vanilla extract and an egg and whisk until they turn light and creamy.
Step 5
Once the dough is ready,take small portions (1 and 1/2 tablespoon scoop dough or 38-40 g) using a spoon or an ice-cream scoop and place it onto the baking tray lined with a parchment paper or onto a non stick baking tray.Press the cookie dough, gently with your hand to flatten each ball of cookie dough slightly (make sure not to flatten them completely, just slightly). Leave a little room between each ball of cookie dough as they will spread a little while they bake.
Step 6
Bake at 350 F for 10-12 minutes or until they turn golden brown on edges.Enjoy soft and chewy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies!
