Place 1/4 ounce sorghum syrup and 4 to 5 dashes Angostura bitters in an old-fashioned glass and stir until the bitters have folded well into the sorghum. Add 2 1/2 ounces spirit of choice. Fill the glass with ice and stir until well chilled. Garnish with the orange slice.
