Step 1
Preheat oven to Spray 8 inch cake pans with cooking spray. Mix together all ingredients (except almond slivers) with a mixer. Pour batter into the cake pans. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until it tests done. Let cool and remove from cake pans.
Step 2
Mix all ingredients together with a mixer. Frost the top of one of the cake layers. Place the other layer on top and frost it with the remaining frosting. Garnish the top of the cake with almond slivers.
Step 3
Keep cake in refrigerator. This cake is delicious served cold.
