Preheat oven to 400 F.
Step 2
Cut the loaf in half lengthwise. In a small bowl, mix butter, fresh garlic, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, parsley, and Parmesan. Add fresh black pepper, to taste. Spread butter over the two bread halves.
Step 3
Lightly wrap each bread halve in aluminum foil and place on a baking sheet cut side up. Bake for 10 minutes. Unwrap the bread, and bake for an additional 5-8 minutes or until toasty and golden around the edges. The middle of the bread should be slightly dried out but soft and not wet. For extra crispy top, broil the bread for 30-45 seconds or until desired crispness. Keep an eye as it burns easily!
Step 4
Slightly cool and slice into 1-inch thick slices with a bread knife. Serve immediately.
