Step 1

Combine rum, triple sec, lime juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker.

Step 2

Add fresh ice and shake for 10 seconds; this mixes and chills the cocktail.

Step 3

Double strain into a coupe glass. (Double strain instructions = strain using hawthorne strainer over a fine mesh strainer and into the glass. This ensures no lime pulp or ice pieces make their way into the cocktail).

Step 4

Cut a swath of orange peel- express oils over the cocktail and rub the peel around rim of glass. Drop into the glass to garnish.
