Ingredients: 4 cups peeled, diced fresh peaches (about 8 small ripe peaches); 1 cup sugar; 1 (12-ounce) can evaporated milk; 1 (3.75-ounce) package vanilla instant pudding mix; 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk; 4 cups half-and-half

Summertime Peach Ice Cream

peaches (about 8 small ripe peaches)

sugar

evaporated milk

vanilla instant pudding mix

sweetened condensed milk

half-and-half

Combine peaches and sugar, and let stand 1 hour.


Process peach mixture in a food processor until smooth, stopping to scrape down sides.


Stir together evaporated milk and pudding mix in a large bowl; stir in peach puree, condensed milk, and half-and-half.


Pour mixture into freezer container of a 4-quart hand-turned or electric freezer; freeze according to manufacturer's instructions. Spoon into an airtight container, and freeze until firm.


My mom asked me to make her some peach melba ice cream. I used the base of this recipe to work from. I ended up adding about another cup and a half of peach puree and I only used about 2.5 cups of the half and half. After churning in my ice cream maker I folded in additionl chunks of diced peaches and added a ribbon of raspberry sauce.  Mom is what I call a peach ice cream snob - this being my first attempt, I was a bit nervous. It was a huge success! She said it's to die for! Thank you for this super simple recipe!! Will definitely make this again.

I gave this recipe a try since it did not require any eggs, cooking or heavy cream. This is the first time I've made peach ice cream but the amount of sugar &amp; sweetened condensed milk seemed excessive so I only used 1/2 cup sugar to sprinkle on the peaches and used 1/2 can of the sweetened condensed milk. Even with those sweetener reductions I still think it's on the sweet side so next time I don't plan to use any sugar to sprinkle on the peaches and will still use only 1/2 can of the sweetened condensed milk. I used frozen unsweetened peach slices since peaches are not in season yet so that could be why the peach flavor was not strong enough. Next time if I use frozen peaches I'll increase the amount of peaches to get a stronger peach flavor. The recipe as is only deserves 3 stars but I'm rating it 4 stars for how easy it is to prepare and for the lower fat content.

Very good and so easy to make.  I followed other suggestions and cut the sugar in half and also added diced peaches to the mix.  Now I am looking for other fruits, etc. to add to this easy base - I am thinking of trying one with cherries and chocolate - kind of like Cherry Garcia!!!

The BEST peach ice cream I have ever tasted!! Look no further because this recipe is IT! Tastes a lot like Blue Bell's homemade peach/vanilla ice cream. Definitely a keeper. I went exactly by the recipe and wouldn't change a thing.  This recipe would also be good with strawberries. Can wait to try that too.

I made this for Father's Day, and everyone went back for seconds.  I will have to stock up on Summer's delicious ripe peaches and make several batches!  Cant wait to try it with strawberries

So easy, and really yummy.  I make half of the recipe and freeze it in my Cuisinart ice cream maker.  I also make ice cream sandwiches using this and homemade ginger cookies. The only ice cream I will ever make!

New Family Favorite!  It was even better the next day after sitting in the freezer for 24 hours. Grandkids loved it. The only thing I will do different in the future is save out enough diced peaches that have not been in the food processor and add them just before churning. We like frozen chunks of peaches in ours.

This Georgia peach loved it, too.  I will never make another fruit ice cream recipe again.  My kids sold it on the corner and made $35 to send to Somalia's children.  The neighbors all love it!  Only recommendation is to prepare the milk/pudding mixture in a large pitcher so it does not pour everywhere when you add it to the ice cream maker.  It makes a ton!  (I used FF half and half, but left the rest alone.)  Yummy!

my family's absolute favorite and requred for all summer gatherings with good South Carolina peaches!  I make it with fat-free half and half, fat free evaporated milk, sugar free pudding - slashes some of the fat and none of the flavor!

This ice cream is heavenly! I wouldn't change the recipe at all. I will definitely be making it again. It is the perfect summertime dessert!

This has been my go-to ice cream recipe ever since it came out in SL years and years ago.  Try it with strawberries or pureed pineapple instead of peaches.  It's easy and fantastic.

Very tasty, though I would probably cut the sugar in half next time.  I had to make another batch sans sugar and mix the two batches in order to make the ice cream less sweet.  Easy, tasty, and full of peach flavor.  Will try with other fruits in the future!
