Step 1
Blister the green beans: Heat the oil in a large pan over high heat. When the oil begins to swirl, add the green beans. Allow to blister and sear on one side, 2 to 3 minutes, then toss to blister some more. Add a pinch of salt and a grind or 2 of pepper.
Step 2
Finish: Add the hot pepper or jalapeño jelly and let it melt into the pan. Add a spritz of lemon. Toss and serve.
