Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2

Grease a 10-inch oven-proof skillet with cooking spray.

Step 3

In another medium skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned all over and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 4

Sprinkle the flour over the sausage and cook, about 1 minute.

Step 5

Add the milk to the sausage mixture and bring to a boil.

Step 6

Lower the heat of the sausage mixture and simmer until very thick, about 5 minutes.

Step 7

Season the sausage mixture with the salt, the pepper, and the cayenne.

Step 8

Transfer the sausage mixture away from the heat.

Step 9

Cut each of the biscuits in half and roll the halves into balls.

Step 10

Place the dough balls around the perimeter of the prepared skillet to form a ring. The biscuits should not be touching.

Step 11

Brush the dough balls with the egg mixture.

Step 12

Add the gravy to the center of the biscuit ring.

Step 13

Bake until the biscuits are golden, about 25-30 minutes.

Step 14

Garnish with the parsley and serve warm.
