Step 1
Cut the onion in half lengthwise from stem to root.
Step 2
With the flat cut side of the onion against the cutting board, cut a sliver of onion from the stem side of the product.
Step 3
Wiggle your pointer finger underneath the outermost onion layer, and pull the layer from stem to root in order to remove it.
