Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease or spray a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
Step 2
Prepare brownie mix as per box directions. Spread in the pan and bake for the length of time stated on the box for a 13 x 9-inch pan. Cool completely.
Step 3
Spread the tub of frosting on top of the cooled brownies. Sprinkle with the chopped peanuts. Refrigerate while making the topping.
Step 4
In a large heavy saucepan melt the chocolate chips and peanut butter over low heat, stirring constantly until no lumps remain. Add the rice cereal and stir well, making sure that all the cereal is coated with the chocolate mixture. Spread the topping mixture evenly across the top of the brownies. Chill for at least 1 hour before cutting.
